The National Guard group was out doing AT down at Fort Dix. They just spent the last two weeks in tents 'playing' in the sand :-).
They had to do one day on and one day off for showers. Yeesh, women one day and the men the next.
Anyway, after the training, the Guard had a given a BBQ for all 300 of the Battalion.
Of course the Dover's 30 or so soldiers could not go to this BBQ, because they needed to return the trucks to the garages.
So, the MTA voted to provide funds and to assist towards a giving a picnic at the Armory for the Dover soldiers.
The Family Readiness Group also elected to provide additional funds.
The FRG recently made funds available for purchasing several things, like fresh drinking water, since the soldiers were supplied water from water buffaloes :-)
and although they were tested the water each day, they were still were a little reluctant...., well U know........... :-)

Many of these units’ retirees are and have been club members during and after service in the Guard. Many are still members also.
There are several active duty members who are also MTA members.
Almost all of them have at least done two tours in harms way and these guys were in it.
They are expected to, and will, go again.

We grilled the burgers and we all posed for the camera, had a military Jeep carry. A simple BBQ, where a good time was had by all
