1972 US Army model 530C Truck Fire
fighting.
Based on the 6x6 2-1/2 ton M45A2 AM
General chassis.
This vehicle was the standard front
line tactical fire fighting truck from 1972 to the mid 1990s.
Used for aviation crash/rescue, brush
and structural fire fighting at camps, cantonments and forward areas.
It was also used at many stateside
posts.
It has a Waterous 750 gallon per
minute pump
400 gallon water tank, onboard
foam system with
40 gallon foam tank, Feecon foam/water
nozzle,
2 150 ft 1 inch booster hose
reels, ladder rack,
4 spotlights, warning light and siren,
8 enclosed tool boxes plus a hose bed
with plus capacity for 2000 ft of hose.
It is equipped with an FM VRC64
military radio,
Motorola fire band radio,
Federal public address/siren unit and a
VHF Comco aviation radio.
This particular unit was first
assigned to the Newport Chemical Depot in Newport Indiana.
I restored this in 2004-2005.
